Orsus
The Latin word Orsus could mean “beginning” as well as “warp and weft”. Here it lends itself to the title of a short story that follows a textile artist’s exploration of the relationship between creation and separation through weaving, cutting, and linguistic inquiry, as in the project ברא. Drawing on biblical exegesis, contemporary linguistics, and physics, the text explores how far the distance is between words and the world.
The short story was featured in the book "A living practice".
