A Study on Creation & Separation

A study on creation and separation is a search for an Adamic language. The artistic research project explores the relationship between creation and separation through the Hebrew word ברא (bara), which appears in the first sentence of the Hebrew Bible: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." It has traditionally been interpreted as “to create,” but a minority of scholars over the past century have pointed out that it can also mean “to separate” or “to cut."
